Watercolor Bootcamp with James Warner

$340.00

A 6-week course, 2 1/2 hours per session, Watercolor Bootcamp is intended to equip a beginning watercolor student with a deep immersion into watercolor fundamentals and give you confidence and inspiration to continue your artistic journey with watercolors. This course will fill in gaps in the education of intermediate watercolor artists.

Each session will start with some audiovisual teaching, followed by a live demonstration by Jim. Sessions will give you 1 1/2 hours of hands-on experience with the various subjects, supervised by Jim. Jim will give mini-lessons during the sessions as he helps each student with their paintings.

There will be handouts for each session for you to take home and put in a notebook or file for reference later. Jim will provide some samples (i.e. different watercolor papers, etc.). There will be required homework assignments for you to work on between sessions. The class will look at each other’s homework paintings together to encourage, overcome any fear and teach.

You will produce small successful paintings each week and we will celebrate each person’s successes. Jim’s private Facebook Group will be available to allow the student to post work, ask questions, get critiqued and to have a community relationship with the other artists. The class is limited to 10 students to allow Jim to give each person personal attention and help.

About the Supplies: Participants are responsible for bringing their own materials for the workshop. Some are required, some are optional. A list of the required supplies as well as a separate list of optional supplies will be provided. Alternatively, you may bring your own watercolors in lieu of purchasing the ones on the supply list. Acceptable alternatives would be Winsor & Newton, Sennelier, or Holbein professional quality paints or similar.
