Suzuki Strings

Cincinnati Suzuki School at the Wyoming Fine Arts Center is the oldest and largest Suzuki program in Cincinnati. In partnership with University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music’s (UC-CCM) Preparatory Department, our program offers the Tri-state’s most comprehensive and robust Suzuki educational program, with an active Parent Organization who support the mission of the program through various activities.
Our students come from as far as Oxford (OH), and we offer weekly group classes and orchestras at all playing levels: from Pre-Twinklers to Beyond Books. (Most programs in the region, as well as nationally, only offer bi-weekly groups).
One important aspect of the Suzuki education is the mentoring educational triangle formed between the student, the teacher and the parent. A loving environment is created for the child, in which the child’s natural inclination to music is channeled lovingly through encouragement and celebration of each small step. To foster this environment, one parent is involved in the musical learning of their child by
- attending lessons
- being “home teachers” during the week
- and by working with the teacher to create an enjoyable learning environment at home, where music becomes a joyous part of upbringing.
In addition to private lessons, children also participate in weekly group lessons and have many opportunities to perform in:
- informal weekly “Talent Time” recitals
- formal group and solo recitals
- concerts at the Center
- community events
Your child will be placed in a Suzuki section after consultation with Center faculty.
