New Year New Staff

Dear Wyoming Fine Arts Center families:

Happy New Year! The Wyoming Fine Arts Center is honoring the old and ringing in the new in 2023 with some changes to our staff and programs.

Since 1995, the Wyoming Fine Arts Center has provided transformational arts programming that has impacted thousands of students through the hard work of our staff, board, teaching artists, and broader community partners. In our 30 years, we have undergone many changes and it is always bittersweet when staffing changes; some familiar faces are leaving the center and new ones are joining us.

  1. We can’t say enough about the legacy Ms. Mary Rekers has gifted us. She leaves behind a thriving Family Music program as she retires after 24 years at the Center. Her Musikgarten classes were fun, enthusiastic, entertaining, and fostered a lifelong love of the arts that lasted generations. She is an instructor like no other in her joyful dedication to her families. We thank Mary for all she has done for the Wyoming Fine Arts Center. We love her for how she loved the center and our families. We wish her congratulations and a long, healthy, and happy retirement.  Ms. Darlene will be taking over Mary’s classes.
  2. Key Suzuki instructors are moving onward and upward to greener pastures and new instructors are joining the Wyoming Arts Center family in violin, cello and bass (with viola to come). There are no changes to traditional lesson instructors, but we hope to expand our cello, viola, bass, voice, and theater offerings. We hope you will join us and offer some grace as we go through some growing pains.

While keeping true to our core of excellence in the arts for all, from our wonderful Suzuki programming to Family Music to expanded theater arts classes,  the Center will be deepening our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, access and belonging in our community. We are increasing performance opportunities and collaborations..  Keep an eye out in the coming months for exciting developments.

The Wyoming Fine Arts Center is committed to our families who call this place their creative home. We continue to be dedicated to delivering the same personal, high quality, and beloved service we have for the last 30 years. If you’d like to learn more, volunteer, become more involved at the center, or have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

Happy New Year full of change and promise.

All the best to you as you stay creative,
